Dumbleton Hall Wedding Photographer

With an on-site church, beautiful gardens and woodland, I love capturing award winning wedding photographs, portraits and emotional moments as a Dumbleton Hall wedding photographer.

This Grade II Listed, 19th Century Cotswold manor house is set in 19 acres of land. With a lake famous for its black swans and other wildlife, the grounds provide a beautiful backdrop for Dumbleton Hall wedding photography. Just a short drive from the M5, A46 and A44, this accessible venue is licensed for civil ceremonies with the option to book exclusive use of the hotel facilities and be Lord and Lady of the Manor for the day!

Dumbleton Hall has origins dating back to 1534, rebuilt in the mid-19th Century it was a well-known venue for parties and celebrations with famous and high society guests including the Poet Laureate John Betjemen.

Church ceremonies can take place in the beautiful Dumbleton parish church, St Peters Dumbleton. The Cotswold limestone church is perfectly located at the end of the sweeping driveway to Dumbleton Hall. Dating back to Norman times, St Peters Dumbleton has a 13th Century tower, housing bells marked with the date 1729, perfect to announce your wedding at Dumbleton Hall in traditional style.

Weddings at Dumbleton Hall

Dumbleton Hall itself also has several rooms licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships. The most impressive of which is the Oak Room. An oak panelled (hence the name..) former ballroom with gorgeous bay windows and open fires – it can hold up to 100 guests for your ceremony or wedding breakfast.

An outdoor wedding at Dumbleton Hall can be held at the beautiful wedding gazebo – with The Oak Room ready on standby should the British weather arrive! There is also space in the grounds for a marquee suitable to entertain 150 guests for a sit-down meal or more for an evening reception.

Civil ceremonies and partnerships at Dumbleton Hall are performed by Gloucestershire Registration Service.

Dumbleton Hall Wedding Photography – Hettie and Ben

Hettie and Ben invited me to join them as their Dumbleton Hall wedding photographer, not once, but TWICE! With an initial smaller ceremony taking place for a limited number of guests, they put together a beautiful day including an absolutely inspirational decision to have a wedding day ice cream station courtesy of those lovely ice cream professionals at The Cotswold Ice Cream Company!

After catching some lovely moments as the Hettie, the Bride, prepared for her wedding at Dumbleton Hall Hotel I was whisked down the driveway by the groom’s father so I could get set up ready for their arrival at the church. It was lovely to have the church so close to the reception venue, just a walk away down the long driveway to Dumbleton.

Hettie’s dress is from the Romantica Collection which she found at the Cotswold Frock Shop along with her incredible veil and tiara. As masks were an inevitable feature of this 2021 wedding, the bridal party had custom made masks from Alison Anthony Designs in Cheltenham.

Ben and his groomsmen wore formal tails suits from Debonair Formal Hire with some added colour in their bow-ties. The vibrant bow-ties were worn in memory of Hettie’s father, Robin Hotton, and were taken from his personal collection. The couple had their wedding rings handmade by R.J. Spicer.

The vibrant floral displays and bouquets were all arranged by Hettie and her family – with flower buckets supplied by Cotswold Country Flowers and flower plinths and roses from The Flower Man. The floral theme didn’t stop there, after their ceremony the newlyweds were showered with floral confetti from The Real Flower Petal Confetti Company (these guys really know how to do confetti!).

After getting married Hettie and Ben made the most of the sunshine and walked with their guests back to Dumbleton Hall for their reception. It was a scorching hot day and Hettie and Ben had organised a little treat for their guests with The Cotswold Ice Cream Co setting up an ice cream stand in the garden of Dumbleton Hall – I LOVE ICE CREAM so I was an even happier photographer that afternoon!

Hettie’s lovely Mum, Kathy Hotton made their cake and it was iced by Claire’s Cakes decorated with green foliage and flowers to match the rest of the lovely florals of the day. Catering was provided by Dumbleton Hall and WOW, it certainly looked the part! Everyone enjoyed their delicious food and some really touching, personal speeches which showed just what a lovely bunch of people were gathered at this lovely little wedding in the Cotswolds.

Congratulations Hettie and Ben, I can’t wait to join you at Dumbleton Hall again for your ‘big wedding’ in October! (….is ice cream acceptable in October too?)
