Coombe Lodge, Blagdon

Coombe Lodge is a fantastic wedding venue, and has ample opportunities for really creative wedding photography. It’s situated in North Somerset, so not too far from either Bath or Bristol. One of the things I like most about it is the opportunity for couples to get married outside. Well almost outside. A horseshoe shape building allows the wedding ceremony to be positioned in between, and the bride can make her entrance from outside and walk down some stone steps and along a central path leading up to the house. It’s a wonderful opportunity if you’re ‘outdoor people’. Wedding photography at Coombe Lodge is a dream for us as there are so many opportunities for creative and formal shots. It’s a big venue, so you never feel ‘crammed’ in to one small space. Natural light is in abundance (you might have noticed I love to photograph weddings in natural and available light), with huge windows letting it flood in to all main areas of the Lodge. A suite upstairs is available to Brides for preparation – again another great opportunity to get candid photographs of the Bride and Bridesmaids getting ready. And on her decent on the large wooden staircase – I could go on and on!
