Bishops Palace Wells Wedding
St. James’ Church Ashwick & Bishops Palace Wells Wedding
I’m delighted to present highlights from St. James Church Ashwick & Bishops Palace Wells wedding. Water was the theme of our day as we joined Hannah & James to photograph their awesome wedding; tears of happiness, an actual ‘wedding duck race’ in the grounds of the Bishops Palace and of course the vast amount of rain which fell from the skies – well this was UK Summertime after all!
Hannah got ready in the morning at her parents house with her bridesmaids and her Mum helping (check out her Grandmother throwing some shapes later on at their reception!). The anticipation heightened, flowers arrived and finally everyone was on their way to the Church. The heavens held long enough for us to all get inside without umbrellas and they enjoyed a beautiful traditional wedding ceremony. With confetti thrown it was off to the amazing Bishops Palace Wells for their wedding reception. The rain suddenly poured down just as we jumped in the car to go to the Bishops Palace and Hannah’s sister (and bridesmaid), Lydia, ran for cover with her bouquet on her head, which made us giggle! A roaring log fire helped everyone dry out once we were back in the comfort of the Bishops Palace.
After their wedding breakfast Hannah’s parents surprised everyone by producing a basket full of little yellow ducks! We all headed outside – and the rain came down. Only the faithful made it to the lakes in the grounds of the Bishops Palace for what I imagine must be the first ‘wedding day duck race’ to ever have been held there! It was absolutely brilliant fun and perfect weather… for ducks! Evening brought dancing and an opportunity for some low light photographs around the Bishops Palace and it’s grounds. I love the photo of Hannah dancing with her father under the vaulted ceiling and her crazy friends partying the night away. Congratulations Hannah & James! x
