First Dance at Coombe Lodge, Blagdon

I’m working on the photographs from Leonie & Rich’s gorgeous wedding at Coombe Lodge this evening, and this photo from their first dance jumped out at me. I love the slightly abstract shape made by their bodies which my light froze them in for a moment. When I’m photographing first dances I’m always curious as to how a couple will react; they’re once again the centre of attention, possibly in front of hundreds of people, and I’m hunting for the little moments when they connect emotionally and physically. Sometimes it happens, and sometimes it doesn’t, but when the stars collide and I capture images like this it’s magical. I’m excited to be returning to Coombe Lodge to photograph a wedding this weekend and weather permitting I’m hoping to photograph their first dance from outside! Fingers crossed.
