North Devon Wedding Photographer
The epic coastal landscape at Tunnels Beaches creates a dramatic background for me to capture creative portraits as a North Devon wedding photographer. Kristy and Steve’s wedding had all the ingredients for an incredible day, including the loveliest people, stunning skies, crashing waves, and a beautiful long veil catching the sea breeze. They celebrated in style, surrounded by their friends and family on a day full of laughter, love, and plenty of seaside adventure!

I joined Kristy and the girls to kick off a fun morning with plenty of fizz as Charlotte added the finishing touches to their hair, and makeup artist Michelle Croke worked her magic. The lovely light and spacious rooms were ideal for capturing relaxed North Devon wedding photography, and the fact Steve was also getting ready on-site at the neighbouring Bath House meant everyone could chill and enjoy the whole day knowing everything was nearby.
Wedding in North Devon
Wedding ceremonies at Tunnels Beaches take place on a terrace carved into the cliff, overlooking the spectacular private beach. The Pantasy Steel Band played as Steve and the assembled guests waited for Kristy and her bridal party to make their way through the tunnels, it was like being in their own little tropical paradise. The bouquets and floral arrangements for the day added to the luxury, tropical vibe with plenty of structural foliage, made by Sandie at Blossom and Butterflies, and the talented Sue Diver created their wedding stationery to match.
After their ceremony (and some gloriously vibrant confetti) we wandered down to the private beach to capture some group photos. Everyone had a lot of fun climbing across the rocks to get into position!
The rock formations came in handy to create some interesting smaller group shots with the bridesmaids and groomsmen, who needs chairs when you’ve got rocks like these?! Steve and the Groomsmen all wore Green tweed suits from The Famous on the Prom in Cheltenham, complementing the soft green of the Bridesmaid’s dresses (with matching pink ties and socks!) and the tropical foliage too.

As everyone made their way back up to the reception, I took they newlyweds for a wander along the beach and some creative portraits. Kristy slipped off her shoes and we explored the rock pools, cliffs and the shoreline around the beach. The sea breeze played an excellent supporting role, creating some extra drama as it danced through Kristy’s long veil and the train of her elegant dress from Future Brides.
Amazing artist Meg Stella had positioned herself on the beach to capture a gorgeous painting of Kristy and Steve on their wedding day, so of course we went to say hello and check out her progress on our way back from our adventure. I can’t wait to see the finished painting!
North Devon Wedding Reception
The incredible team at Tunnels had set up the main dining area for Kristy and Steve’s wedding reception, and we were treated to some of their brilliant food, the whole menu is so delicious and whenever I work here as a North Devon wedding photographer I look forward to a feast!
Before cutting their cake on the terrace, Kristy changed into a super sparkly evening outfit by Nadine Merabi and Steve removed his waistcoat, tie and jacket ready to party the night away. The cake, made by Cora at Cantel Cakes, featured botanical designs inspired by the flowers for the day (and you might also remember a similar design on the robes from bridal prep too!).
We also ventured back onto the beach for some photos with smoke flares, which were great fun… that smoke is thicker than you might imagine! There was also time for a little snuggle on the rocks as the waves crashed around them on a beautiful summer evening.
Then it was party time! It was such a fun day by the sea, Kristy and Steve are the loveliest and most welcoming people, and their friends and family celebrated on the dance floor late into the night. Congratulations to you both and thanks so much for inviting me to capture your North Devon wedding photography!
