What a great day to be a wedding photographer at the Doubletree Cadbury House. We joined Merlin the cat, Gemma the bride and her parents and bridesmaids as they got ready at home in Keynsham. We then moved to the nearby St. John the Baptist Church in Keynsham for the marriage ceremony where we met Matt, the groom, and his Best Man and brother, Pete. They looked fabulous and what a lovely, warm and friendly Church! Thanks to Rev Simon Howell for making us feel so at home and allowing us to capture some great photographs of their marriage ceremony. The choir sang beautifully under the direction of Roger Paach, the Director of Music at St. John’s. Thanks to Stu Newson the Wedding Coordinator and his team at Cadbury House for their help throughout the day. Before the wedding day itself, Rich spent an afternoon with Gemma and Matt in the city of Bath in Somerset taking some photographs to celebrate their engagement. Doubletree Cadbury House Wedding Reception

It was a delightfully warm day at Cadbury House and on arrical their guests enjoyed drinks on the lower terrace. We shot a few of their large group photographs here – making use of the levels. Everyone was really patient and helpful which enabled us to capture a lovely mix of ‘formals’, despite the ever present danger of ‘sinking heels’ in the grass and a breeze which occasionally blew the fountain in our direction. Well done ladies.

As their guests sat for dinner the speeches came first and they were all splendid, in particular Pete’s ‘anatomical revalation’ about the groom will remain with us for some time! …you had to be there. Finally Gemma and Matt hit the dance floor at Cadbury House and ‘threw some shapes’ to Jack Johnson’s ‘Better Together‘.

We took them for a short walk around the grounds for a evening creative shoot and even popped in to their bridal suite at Cadbury House – check our Gemma in the bath! It’s more tasteful than it sounds – trust me. On the drive home Heidi explained to me a little about football (which I admitt to knowing absolutely nothing at all about) and that Bristol Rovers and Bristol City apparently aren’t the same team! ?
