We enjoyed our first wedding of 2016 on Saturday at Orchardleigh House in Somerset. Congratulations to the amazing Olga & James and their wonderful friends and family who totally rocked Orchardleigh House on Saturday, after the most exquisite candlelit ceremony at ‘the island church’. On a frightfully cold night I made a little hot circle of lurve with these two at Coombe Lodge, Blagdon. The beautiful archway of fairy lights was too much of a draw, and I managed to line up on of the little lights over Leonie & Rich, giving them this beautiful halo of light.
Getting close to capture emotion during a wedding isn’t as easy as it might seem. People are generally ‘exposed and vulnerable’ when they show their emotions and it’s a real privilege to be trusted enough to enter their world and be allowed to photograph these moments. Magda & Ben’s fantastic wedding at Homewood Park near Bath was made even more awesome after Ben’s rendition of Beyoncé’s ‘all the single ladies’, following their first dance! He then grabbed his new Grandmother and threw some shapes with her in his arms. Just fantastic fun!
Yesterday I took my new Nikon F2 film camera on a journey in to the woods, to compare and test it against my digital D750’s. I’m going to start using film at some weddings and I wanted to ensure consistency. It’ll be a week or so before the prints and scans are back with me…
