Lillibrooke Manor Wedding
What hit me first when I met this rocking pair was their absolute joie-de vivre. They have this sparkle when they look at each other and the most positive and fun approach to everything, which is truly infectious. Their wedding day was definitely going to be a rollercoaster of fun and emotion!
It was the end of November and there was a scent of Christmas in the air already. You know the sort of day – bright blue skies, russet coloured woodland, naked trees and bitterly cold winds! I drove through the dappled sunlight to arrive with Emily at her parents’ home near Windsor where she was getting ready with her bridesmaids, Mum and Dad. The most relaxing morning followed accompanied by the sound of Emily’s Mum’s vintage vinyl (Ella Fitzgerald, if I remember correctly?).
I’m a sucker for real, emotional moments, and there’s something really touching to witness a parent seeing their child for the first time on the morning of their wedding day. So I was tearing up when Emily’s Dad walked down the stairs and was met by his daughter in her wedding dress, which amusingly had one of her bridesmaids tucked fully underneath it only a few minutes before. With a loving look and the warmest of hugs, the day moved on.
Steve’s Father, who’d traveled all the way from the US, conducted a truly beautiful and heart felt ceremony. His warm, rich, comforting words really stirred the emotions in the room. With confetti thrown, the icy winter wind chased their guests into the barn, adorned with Christmassy fairy lights. Best Man, Matt, gave an awesome speech. Full of fun and emotion (…no badgers were harmed), before everyone tucked in to a feast of a wedding breakfast, and as darkness fell, friends and family circled the dance floor as Emily & Steve made their way through the crowd for their first dance. Then it happened! A surprise crashing roar of music as the New York Brass Band walked in to the room playing at full volume! What an epic start to an evening of some serious shape throwing.
Some say you shouldn’t fall in love with your clients. With Emily & Steve it was impossible not to. I’m delighted to present highlights from their amazing winter wedding at Lillibrooke Manor. Enjoy! Rich x
