Winter Wedding at Brympton House

As the winter nights draw in and I come towards the end of a truly amazing year of photographing weddings, I joined Tara & James for their beautiful winter Wedding at Brympton House in Somerset!

I arrived under mistletoe hanging from the entrance hall and was met by Natalie, Brympton’s amazing wedding coordinator, who was welcoming guests and family by the Christmas tree with a huge log fire burning away. Very Christmassy!

Tara and her girls were getting ready in the honeymoon suite, one of my favourite rooms at Brympton House – it’s huge! Tara wore a beautiful gown from Evelie, which was simple, elegant, and absolutely stunning on her (she also had a shimmery gold outfit change for the evening too!).

Meanwhile, James and his groomsmen were positioning their buttonholes and straightening their ties, looking the part in their brown tweed suits from Impeccable Wear. As their guests began to arrive they relaxed in the library bar, even playing a few early frames of billiards in The Morning Room.

Their wedding ceremony was planned for one of Brympton’s medieval buildings, Castle House, one of three amazing choices for weddings at Brympton, and in December most definitely the cosiest! They filled the ancient stone windows with so many beautiful candles and beautiful fresh flowers (Brympton Styling did an amazing job!) and to my delight enjoyed singing ‘Walking in a Winter Wonderland’, which (some say) I may have joined in with.

We absolutely love the photos we’ve seen so far. Thank you for making our day even more special! We are so grateful!

After mulled wine and canapes in the Great Hall, we braved the chilly evening and captured their family photos just a few steps outside the main entrance hall on the long drive. Speeches and their wedding breakfast followed and were enjoyed in Brympton’s opulent Salon, again adorned with soft candlelight.

With the Christmas vibe well and truly set, their guests needed no encouragement in making their way over to the adjacent Party Barn, for an evening of eating (hog roast, nom nom!), drinking, and dancing the night away!

So with absolute delight, I can say both congratulations and Merry Christmas! What a day! xx
