I always feel that I see people as their true self just before they get married – before they are surrounded by friends and family…
Getting close to capture emotion during a wedding isn’t as easy as it might seem. People are generally ‘exposed and vulnerable’ when they show their emotions and it’s a real privilege to be trusted enough to enter their world and be allowed to photograph these moments. Magda & Ben’s fantastic wedding at Homewood Park near Bath was made even more awesome after Ben’s rendition of Beyoncé’s ‘all the single ladies’, following their first dance! He then grabbed his new Grandmother and threw some shapes with her in his arms. Just fantastic fun!
I’ve now been awake all night frantically trying to rebuild my website and email on a new server – exhausted and angry. Then there was a knock at the door… a courier… As if they somehow knew I needed a pick-me-up, my wonderful clients Anna & Rich had sent me a gorgeous box of Brownies!…
I love Springtime weddings at Coombe Lodge. Here are Leonie & Rich in the amazing daffodils, shortly after their beautiful wedding ceremony. We were so lucky with the light and weather, with gorgeous hot sunshine most of the day – the kind of afternoon light I just dream of having when shooting weddings!
