Prior Park Wedding Photographer in Bath

I was so excited to join J&C as their Prior Park wedding photographer in Bath! It was another gorgeous summer day for Jodie and Chris ‘s Wedding at Prior Park in the beautiful world Heritage city of Bath! Prior Park College isn’t just a wedding venue, it’s a private school! It’s formed from an incredible set of Georgian buildings, with all of the high ceilings, big windows and natural light which I just love! And overlooking the National Trust’s stunning Prior Park landscape Gardens, with the city of Bath tucked away in the distance behind. The staff there are equally lovely, and it was an absolute pleasure to work alongside Niamh and James who took care of their wedding day.

Bride prep as a Prior Park Wedding Photographer

Jodie got ready downstairs in a beautiful long room where her family and bridesmaids could spread out, and enjoy the incredible views of the landscape gardens outside. Tradition dictates that the couples shouldn’t see each other before the wedding ceremony, so everyone was giggling when Chris walked their beloved puppy outside of where the bridesmaids were getting ready, and was on the phone to Jodie indoors, each standing with their backs to each other, as they ironed out some pre-Wedding details.

First Look (with their dog!) before their Prior Park Wedding

It wasn’t long before they got to see each other, as they came together for a ‘first look’ in a sun-drenched Courtyard just behind where Jodie and her bridesmaids were getting ready. But the real star of the show for me was their pup! …I am a little ‘dog obsessed’! Photos by Prior Park Wedding Photographer, Rich Howman.

Wedding Reception at Prior Park

For their group photos, I absolutely must give a shout out to both the groomsmen and Niamh from Prior Park College, who eagerly got stuck in with my excited requests to move heavy flower pots and furniture outside, to ‘style up’ the portraits!

The garden games they had laid out for their guests were an absolute hit! No idea what it’s called, but the game where teams throw sandbags into a hole got more than a little competitive! And I was extremely impressed with their handmade wooden hexagon photo structure! Honestly I’ve no idea what these things are called, and my terrible description does it no justice! Adorned with even more beautiful flowers, courtesy of the lovely Suzanne Millard.

Prior Park College Wedding – Couple Photos

I absolutely love using some of the more unconventional spaces Prior Park College has to offer. And during their sunset couple photos, after taking in the views, we made our way to the servants staircase – a stunning three storey spiral stone stair (what a mouthful!), where I made the them get ridiculously uncomfortable for the sake of “my art”! lol. The beautiful Georgian Bath stone of Prior Park was glowing gently in the early evening sunset. When I get this kind of light in Bath, it’s absolutely magical, and we took for the advantage of it for the couple portraits! With a little help from a couple of bottles of Thatcher’s cider – well, we were in Somerset after all!
