Wedding Photographer in Frome, Somerset
What an incredible day with these two absolute legends, and a hundred or so of their lovely friends and family, I joined Lucy and Lawrence as their Wedding Photographer in Frome at the amazing Orchardleigh House! Arriving early at Orchardleigh House I went for a little wander around, as I love to do before a wedding. You get to see everything as it starts coming together for the day before I tie my cameras on and start to ‘do my thang’. As I gazed over the garden at the back of Orchardleigh a team of florists under the watchful eye of Demelza were chatting as they assembled the incredible flower towers or ‘broken arch’, which would be the centrepiece of Lucy & Lawrence’s beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony at Orchardleigh. I already knew this was something I definitely wanted to come back to use later on, and during the couples portraits I made full use of this beautiful floristry once again. The splash of colour from the flowers against the green of the landscape just made the scene pop, as well as framing the couple beautifully whilst their guests watched them tie the knot.

Bridal preparations were an absolute dream, with Lucy and her bride squad making full use of Orchardleigh’s Lord Byron room, I even got to meet Taylor Swift’s biggest fan! Using this big room at Orchardleigh was great, as it freed up ‘Bonita’ for Lucy to Swiftly get into her wedding dress (…see what I did there?) with help from her sister, Sophie, before ‘first looks’ / reveals with her parents, and then her team of bridesmaids. Which were beautifully emotional moments, and the start of my own tears that day! lol. Yes, I cry at weddings too!
Outdoor Wedding Ceremony at Orchardleigh House, Frome
When it was time to get married, Lucy walked herself ‘down the aisle’ in a stunning dress from Halo & Wren, to Lawrence waiting patiently. After a final hug from his best man, David, the two Lovers (…see what I did again?) held hands all the way through their wedding ceremony as they turned from ‘single Pringles’ into Somerset’s newest married couple!
Speeches & Wedding Breakfast at Orchardleigh, Frome
Speeches followed starters, and I have to say David the Best Mans speech absolutely stood out to me… and I hear a lot of these! Speaking without any notes and having initially lulled us all into a false sense of security with an amusing start about his own “weirdness”, he went straight to the heart of every man in the room with a truly honest, sincere and beautiful openness. He didn’t need to ‘dish the dirt’… he left that for Sophie, Lucy’s sister, to do. With a hilarious tear down based on her secret diary… “yes, I’ve read your diary”. The tales from which will remain in the room, but if you look at Lucy’s face in the photos, your imagination will take you in the right direction!
Party Time! Cake cutting, First Dance and night time shenanigans!
Whilst I pulled the eject handle at midnight, their wedding party, proceeded by cake cutting and the couples beautifully choreographed first dance, was just epic! With live music from The Pop Runners and then DJ Mark Allen dancing them all well into the early hours of Sunday morning.
