Comparing Film and Digital Photography
I’ve been experimenting and comparing film and digital photographs recently. It’s been many years since I photographed with film, having trained on it long before professional digital cameras even existed, but digital photography reigns supreme in my work so I wanted to get back to basics and see if I could re-awaken the craft of making film photographs again. Over the next week I’ll be writing up an article on my very unscientific test along with direct comparisons of photographs shot with my Nikon F2 film camera and my Nikon D750 digital camera. But as today seemed to be one of the two days of the year we get to enjoy British Summertime, here is some blue sky and blossom to cheer everyone up. Photographed with ‘real’ Kodak Portra 400 film on my Nikon F2 camera & 50mm lens (at f1.4). Scanned by the UK Film Lab with a Frontier scanner.
