From the coast to the countryside, there’s so much to explore as a Dorset wedding photographer. I can’t wait to visit some more venues across the county! There’s one place in Dorset that I love coming back to though, and spoiler alert… it’s pretty awesome! Tucked away in the beautiful Blandford Forum in Dorset is Bryanston School, surrounded by a stunning 400-acre estate. Not only are the buildings and grounds absolutely incredible, but the people and staff are also some of the most welcoming and fun I’ve had the pleasure to work with.

Sam and Nick’s Dorset Wedding Photography

The story starts at about 1 am in a car park, where I met Sam and Nick after capturing Katie and Will’s wedding at Bryanston School in the summer of 2021. After lots of fuss for their adorable four-legged friend Basil, we got chatting and found out they were planning to get married at the same venue the following year – the rest is history! Time seemed to fly and before we knew it their wedding day had arrived, marking the start of the 2022 wedding season in epic style.

So, here are a few images for you to enjoy, while I work on editing the full collection, I can’t wait to share more!

Sam and Nick’s big day started with getting ready surrounded by friends and family, and the ever-watchful (and handsome) Basil, I love dogs at weddings! Their church ceremony in the school chapel was full of personal and emotional moments, and some laughs as well! It was lovely to see The Reverend Jo Davis again too! There were even a few flakes of snow in the air as the new Mr and Mrs got well and truly swamped by confetti!

Blue skies returned as their guests walked up the hill to the main school building, with everyone enjoying champagne and canapes before a few group photos between snow showers. Getting everyone assembled on the stone steps to the gardens was SO worth it for this shot of everyone together – excellent waving skills!

There was a sudden blizzardy moment where we needed to abandon plans and run for cover, but with a bit of frantic crowd herding and some studio lighting set up quickly in the impressive entrance hallway, we got the group portraits they wanted in the bag! Well done and thank you everyone for being such good sports and staying smiling! Then an impromptu wedding piggyback race with their school friends had us all laughing, it was certainly a good way to warm up!

Sam and Nick are a pair of absolute legends, both so funny and kind, it felt like being part of the family for the day (and it was lovely to catch up and have hugs with Katie and Will too!). They had huge smiles on their faces, and you could really see the connection between them in every moment. Just adorable!

We managed to sneak away for a few quick photoshoots during the day and I can’t wait to share more of the epic portraits we created – Congratulations Sam and Nick, we loved every minute!
