Doubletree by Hilton Wedding
Nikki and Aaron started planning their wedding back in 2018, and when they were looking for venues, Doubletree by Hilton Cheltenham was the ideal place for their celebration. The couple fell in love with the location, surrounded by woodland, hills, and the beautiful fairways of Lilley Brook Golf Course. The hotel is in the heart of the Cotswolds and still easily accessible, being just ten minutes from the centre of Cheltenham. A Doubletree by Hilton wedding can be tailored to suit you, here they take place in a luxury contemporary manor house with a Georgian aesthetic and an on-site spa.
I met Nikki and her bridal team at Cheltenham Racecourse wedding show, as a Bristol wedding photographer it’s a show I exhibit at quite regularly (wedding shows are brilliant places to meet your suppliers… and eat cake!) I was so pleased my stand caught their eye!
“His photography blew me away and some photos made myself and my wedding party cry as he captured the most sentimental moments”
Nikki and Aaron Brown – Doubletree by Hilton wedding
After a bit of interference from a global pandemic, Nikki and Aaron postponed their original date, but their Doubletree by Hilton wedding promised to be full of fun and laughter right from the start – especially when I heard the mention of a rodeo bull!!

I started the day with Nikki, who was getting ready in one of the light and spacious rooms with her family and friends. After Tutti Bella Hair and Make Up worked their magic, there was lots of laughter, hugs, and quite a few happy tears causing some frantic mascara drying dances early on! The bridesmaids wore stylish grey dresses from Forever Unique as part of the pink and grey colour palette for the day – shout out to Mother of the Bride who put together the stunning floral decorations by hand!
Everyone was beaming with happiness and pride, and after their first look at Nikki in her True Curves ‘Blake’ wedding gown, it was clear this would be an emotional day! The gown was made even more perfect by skilled Cotswold Seamstress Hitched in Vintage.
Time to walk down the aisle!
As guests began arriving, I popped down to meet Aaron, who was enjoying a few pre-ceremony drinks with his Best Man, all the boys were dressed in matching Burton’s suits. He then waited patiently for Nikki to arrive, with the support of their son, who had a very special job during the ceremony and delivered the rings like an absolute pro!
Doubletree by Hilton wedding reception
We made the most of the afternoon sunshine and guest enjoyed a drinks reception on the lawn, toasting to the newlyweds with hugs and plenty of fizz! Then I took the bridal party off to explore the gardens quickly – and we created a game of ‘save the bride’! This involved Nikki’s bridesmaids tiptoeing across a waterfall and stream – which made for some absolutely epic photos and memories – Bridesmaids, friends, and brave adventurers!
As the new Mr and Mrs Brown were announced in for their wedding breakfast, Nikki had secretly arranged for the theme tune to ‘That’s Mrs Brown’ to play – not even Aaron expected this and it caught everyone by surprise, so they started their married life with huge smiles, laughter, and applause! The speeches followed, with plenty more smiles as everyone celebrated and enjoyed the delicious menu from Doubletree by Hilton wedding catering.
A rodeo of an evening!
The evening reception was kicked off with one of my new favourite wedding guests – a rodeo bull from South West Discos! Another benefit of having so much flexible space at this Doubletree by Hilton wedding was that there was room to have the full-size bucking bronco – honestly, I could make an entire photographic series of the shots from the bull!
From highly competitive guests and determined bridesmaids to hilarious falls and dramatic recoveries – it was an absolute scream! Even the bride and groom had a go – and were helped up from a pile on the floor by their son, which was a really cute (and funny) moment.
The party continued into the night with dancing and plenty more drinks, there was even a full high-vis dance-off to the YMCA, courtesy of Nikki’s family who ran to get their fluorescent jackets to really get into character!
“No wonder Rich has won so many awards! From the moment we met him at the wedding show I knew he would be a perfect fit for our Doubletree by Hilton wedding!”

This lot are complete party animals and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate! When it was time to leave, I made sure I had a quick spin around the dancefloor to soak up the atmosphere before heading home with a big smile on my face!
Congratulations Nikki and Aaron, and thanks for choosing me to capture your day! xxx
